Jason Mychasiw, CFA

Jason Mychasiw is a Senior Portfolio Manager and Senior Investment Advisor with TD Wealth Private Investment Advice in Thunder Bay. He works with individuals, families, and business owners to deliver disciplined investment management and coordinated wealth planning aligned with each client’s long-term goals.

Jason leads the investment strategy and philosophy for his practice, with a focus on building resilient portfolios through thoughtful asset allocation, risk management, and ongoing oversight. His approach is highly personalized, centered on understanding each client’s priorities and providing clear, practical guidance to support confident financial decisions.

Jason brings more than two decades of experience in financial services, including roles in investment management, corporate banking, and capital markets. Prior to joining TD Wealth in 2014, he held positions within TD’s commercial and corporate banking teams, as well as in mergers and acquisitions with GMP Securities in Toronto.

He has also held governance roles, including as Chair of the Audit Committee for a publicly traded mining company listed on the TSX Venture Exchange and in Peru, and as an advisory board member to another publicly traded company.

Beyond portfolio construction, Jason works closely with clients and their professional advisors, including accountants and lawyers, to support coordinated tax planning, estate structuring, and wealth transition strategies. He holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree (Finance) from Lakehead University.

Born and raised in Northwestern Ontario, Jason lives in Thunder Bay with his wife, Terianne, and their twin sons, Carter and Cohen. Outside the office, he enjoys fishing, hunting, and spending time outdoors with his family.

Chris Benz is an Associate Portfolio Manager and Investment Advisor with TD Wealth Private Investment Advice in Thunder Bay. He works with high-net-worth individuals and families across Northwestern Ontario to provide tailored investment advice and integrated planning strategies designed to support each client’s long-term financial vision.

Chris oversees the wealth planning approach for his practice, focusing on customized strategies shaped by tax efficiency, long-term growth, risk management, and legacy planning. His approach is highly personalized and centered on understanding each client’s priorities and providing clear, practical guidance to support confident financial decisions.

Chris began his career with TD in 2002, holding various roles before becoming an Investment Advisor in 2019. He has worked in Thunder Bay, Fort Frances, Kingston, and Ottawa, returning to Thunder Bay in 2016. He takes pride in helping clients make informed decisions and build strategies that evolve with their needs.

Working alongside a broader team of specialists, Chris partners closely with clients and their professional advisors to develop integrated strategies that support long-term objectives, protect wealth, and enhance after-tax outcomes. He holds both the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designations, reflecting his expertise in comprehensive financial planning and discretionary portfolio management.

Outside of the office, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife, Isabelle, and their two children, Mason and Addyson. He is an avid outdoorsman whose interests include hunting, fishing, camping, ice fishing, skiing, and hockey. Much of his free time is spent with family on Lake Nipigon.

Raeanne Shewchuk, Client Service Associate

Raeanne began her career in banking in 2008 and started with TD Private Investment Advice in 2013. Born and raised in Thunder Bay, she values the strong connections she has built in her community and takes pride in serving clients locally.

A graduate of the Administrative Accounting Program in 2004, Raeanne plays an integral role on the team, overseeing compliance and supporting trade execution and processing across client portfolios. She has completed both the Canadian Securities Course and the Conduct and Practices Handbook course, further strengthening her financial services knowledge. Her attention to detail and experience help ensure client servicing and operational processes are handled with accuracy and care.

Raeanne is committed to delivering exceptional client service and building trusted, long-term relationships. She approaches each client interaction with empathy and perspective, always striving to understand their individual needs and circumstances in order to provide thoughtful and reliable support.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Raeanne enjoys spending time with her family, including her two children. She is active in the summer months playing softball and enjoying time at camp, and whenever possible, takes advantage of the winter season to travel.

Colleen Gascoigne, Client Service Associate

With over 25 years spent dedicated to customer service, Colleen has built her career on developing and nurturing positive, lasting relationships with both clients and colleagues. Since joining the Mychasiw and Benz Team, she has felt privileged to support and connect with our wonderful clients and especially enjoys coordinating meetings and events, as well as assisting with special requests.

Aside from her time in Toronto for university, Colleen has always called Thunder Bay home. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree and a diploma in Optical Sciences. Colleen spent many rewarding years in retail optical, where she developed a strong commitment to client satisfaction.

After starting with TD in 2023, Colleen expanded her knowledge of financial services by completing both the Canadian Securities Course and the Conduct and Practices Handbook course. As part of her role, she supports clients and allied professionals with document and reporting requests, bringing a thoughtful, responsive, and service-oriented approach to her work.

Away from work, Colleen enjoys a quiet rural life with her husband and two sons. She treasures time with family and friends and enjoys getting lost in a good book, practicing yoga, and baking.

Tyler Colledanchise, Client Service Associate

Tyler's role centers on delivering a seamless private wealth experience by collaborating within an advisory team to ensure planning strategies remain aligned with evolving client needs and broader financial goals.

Tyler has completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC), the Conduct and Practices Handbook Course (CPH), and the Wealth Management Essentials Course (WME). He is currently enrolled in the Advanced Investment Strategies Course (AIS) while working toward the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation. Before entering the financial services industry, Tyler graduated from Lakehead University in 2013 with a degree in Political Science (Pre-Law).

Tyler is dedicated to fostering strong client relationships through thoughtful problem-solving and dependable support. He takes pride in contributing to positive client outcomes and helping to ensure that each client experience is handled with care and attention.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Tyler enjoys spending time with his wife Jess, daughter Waverley, and dog Kamara. Fueled by a love for exploration, Tyler finds great joy in taking his family on adventures to the Southern Caribbean.
