"Sound investment advice built to help weather all market conditions"

I have worked in the investment industry since 2002, after receiving a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of British Columbia.  I spent the first eight years of my finance career on Bay Street in Toronto, gaining invaluable experience in the equity and fixed income markets. In January 2010, I transitioned my career from an institutional environment to working with high value clients in Edmonton.  I use the expertise I developed from working on a trading floor environment and working with some of the best institutional portfolio managers in Canada to help my clients with all their financial needs.

My investment philosophy is to be conservative with an eye towards risk mitigation.  If my clients are to able enjoy their wealth without having to think about their investment portfolio, then I have done my job right.  I believe that it is more important to protect client assets in down markets than it is to chase higher returns in up markets, knowing that everyone makes money when the markets are rising. Protecting assets in falling markets is what I strive for.  I accomplish this by using well diversified portfolios that contain asset classes which are uncorrelated to each other and by being active with my client asset allocations.

While investment management is certainly an important part of the service my team and I provide to clients, it is only one of the many things we do.  When appropriate, we can engage TD specialists who can assist in Will & Estate Planning, cash flow planning, retirement planning, banking, and insurance planning.

Offering a unique discovery process

In the initial stages of us getting to know each other, I use an innovative discovery tool that will take you through some behaviour questions so you can better know yourself and how you really make decisions. And when it's all done, a diagnostic using behavioural finance theory will take all that information and tell us how you often behave, how I can work best with you and what the next steps are in creating your strategy - prioritized by what matters to you. A wealth strategy which manages the important things like your retirement, your kid's education, your family cottage - not just your money.

I take our relationship with you seriously – that means we'll be in touch with you on an ongoing basis so we can provide you with the information you need for a successful financial future. And when you need advice, we'll be there with a breadth of knowledge and expertise, along with the personalized attention you deserve.

Embrace human behavior is the second principal of our Risk Priority Management philosophy, which we define as follows:

Can your kids afford to inherit the family cottage?

Early in their marriage, Pat and Marlene caught the cottage fever after summers of cottaging in rented properties.

    Stashing Your Cash

Maybe you’ve checked your cash flow, and identified some extra money in your monthly budget to sock away, or maybe you’ve gotten a commission or bonus from your employer and are looking to put it aside for a rainy day.
