"Working together to help you achieve what truly matters to you"

About Jerome So –

I have worked in the investment industry for the last 19 years.  I was a Regional Vice President at a global asset management firm before joining TD Wealth Private Investment Advice.  Many professionals I have worked with describe me as an individual who has unique ability to connect, relate and resonate with people.  I always believe achieving clarity in any communication and planning would lead to “comfort and commitment”.

I was lucky to have met my soul mate - my wife Karen 20 years ago.  We have two beautiful children Aidan and Jenna.

When I am not working or at the hockey rink, I train and compete with my Labrador retriever at Field Trial competition at National level.

WHY I do what I do –

Today, Canadians need advice on their retirement and wealth planning more than ever before.  The changing market requires changing insights.  The recent extreme market volatility has created challenges for the asset distribution phase for most Canadians who are pre-retirees and retirees.  Imagine taking a long-planned scenic and pleasurable road trip only to finding yourself navigating on foggy road everyday.  With my 19 years of investment industry background and enriched life experiences, I am confident and committed in helping my clients deal with their life issues through comprehensive wealth planning.

My Value Proposition –

I help my clients manage their QUIET WEALTH through comprehensive wealth planning.   Wealth is about more than money.  Just like wealth creation is more than investment planning.  It is about the clients’ ability to do WHAT they want, WHEN they want and HOW they want.

My Process –

With the 11 Wealth Planning considerations, our engaging Life Discovery is the first step in creating clarity of how all aspects of our life are inter-related.  After all, Life is full of many ‘ifs’.

Clients I work with -

(A) Pre-retirees and Retirees -

I can help you if you are pre-retirees and retirees who are in your life transition phase.  Life issues you likely face are –

  1. Can I retire?
  2. How much income do I need?
  3. Is my income today sustainable?
  4. If you are business owner, what is your business succession plan?
  5. Do you plan to leave a Legacy?
  6. How about Charitable Giving?

(B) Medical Professionals -

I can help you if the structure of your incorporated practices involves Holding Co, Operational Co., Investment Co. and Family Trusts.  I work closely with accountants who specialize in these areas.   Through planning, it would effectively eliminate or reduce any gaps between tax, investment and wealth planning.

One example - To take full advantage of the Canadian Dividend Accounts (CDA) to help accumulate more tax free asset within the corporation.

I am a professional who “gets it” and would like to earn the opportunity to be your Trusted Advisor.

With - 1) what TD Waterhouse stands for; 2) our extensive investment and wealth strategies; and 3) my strong desire to help you create clarity of your financial future.

I would be pleased to share more with you regarding how I can help, and welcome your call.
