Year-End Financial Review: Preparing for the Months Ahead
October is a useful time to review your financial picture before year-end, including retirement, family, housing, education, and day-to-day priorities. A year-end review can help you take stock of your goals, organize key information, and prepare for tax and planning discussions. Each person’s circumstances are different, so any decisions should reflect your objectives and needs.
Consider reviewing:
- Savings – Review progress toward your retirement, family, education, and lifestyle goals.
- Spending – Consider whether your current spending reflects your priorities.
- Charitable giving – Review any planned donations and how they align with your personal goals.
- Tax preparation – Organize documents that may be needed for year-end tax discussions.
- Contact information – Confirm your mailing address, email, and phone number are current.
