Working together to help you achieve what truly matters to you

At David Bassett Wealth we believe an open and ongoing dialogue is key to the success of every relationship.

Before we propose any solution or make any recommendation, we will hold in-depth discussions with you and, if you wish, your family members and your other professional advisors.

These discussions allow us to gain a thorough understanding of not just your immediate financial goals, but also the long-term aspirations you and your family share.

David Bassett uses a proven wealth management process designed to simplify the building of your financial future. Relevant, pro-active investment advice is a foundation of any wealth management strategy.

Our Investment Process

Our team will help you to articulate your personal and financial goals, develop your risk profile and define your investment objectives. We follow a distinctive and reliable process to create, implement and update your investment plan to address each of your life stages.

David has worked in the financial services industry for over 25 years, and has spent more than twenty years advising individuals on their personal financial plans and investments. He feels that this experience has given him a significant understanding of trusts and estate planning strategies.  It has also profoundly influenced the focus of his practice and his understanding of the multi generational issues we all face.

David holds his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from McMaster University, and is a Life Insurance Advisor with TD Wealth Insurance Services. In addition to being a Registered Representative in the investment industry he has also completed the Personal Financial Planning Program (PFP) and holds the designation of Certified Financial Planner (CFP®).

As a member of a three-person professional panel David co-authored the report for the Federal Department of Finance that developed the Federal Tax Credit. This tax credit helps parents fund their children’s organized fitness involvement. Part of David’s experience includes four years working in Ottawa at a senior level, and two years in the Department of Finance working on taxation issues. Having worked in the upper echelons of government, banking, trust and investment industries, David has gained invaluable insights into most areas of the financial services industry, and how it impacts individuals.

Outside of Work, David is extremely active in his community, including being a past Director of the Port Moody Art Centre, and serving a few years as President of the Port Moody Aquarian Swim Club and as Vice President for Water Polo with the BC Summer Swim Association. In David’s spare time, he enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife and three children.
