"Your vision of success will be central to how we will work together"

 Our planning philosophy

Clarity:  aligning your financial choices with your most important goals and your most deeply held values

Confidence: giving you the highest level of confidence that no matter what happens in the markets, the economy or the world that you will achieve your most important financial and life goals

Commitment: putting your "Financial World" in order and keep it that way for your life and for your legacy.

Our investment solution is built on three main pillars:

Capital Preservation:  investors are often willing to accept a lower rate of return in exchange for the peace of mind in knowing that their portfolio is designed to withstand rocky market performance.

Tax efficiency:  intelligently deploying assets across the various accounts available to an investor  (RRSP's, TFSA's and open accounts) allows for returns to be made in the most tax efficient manner.  "After tax" returns are the goal.

Low Fees:  our approach is primarily fee based so clients know what our advice costs.  We structure client portfolios with the full range of investment solutions such as ETF's, individual securities and managed money.

Initial Meeting:  Our process begins with the Financial Roadmap conversation.  We will explore your most deeply held values and your important goals.  We begin with the simple question "What's important about money to you?"  We will discuss what you are looking for in an advisor and we will decide whether we are a fit to work together.

Second Meeting:  At this meeting we will review our Roadmap conversation and address any financial "red flags" that require immediate attention.  We will complete any necessary paperwork and discuss next steps.

Initial Update Meeting:  Here will review a personalized draft comprehensive Financial Plan, discuss the assumptions made and play "what if" until the client is satisfied that the Plan reflects their needs and desires.  At that point we can begin the implementation process by generating an investment strategy that reflects the clients' time line, goals and risk tolerance.

Further Steps:  working with TD's Wealth Advisory Services team we will continue building the comprehensive and integrated plan that addresses all facets of how money affects clients' lives.  We will address Risk Management, Tax Planning, Trusts and Estates Planning, Business Succession Planning and, of course, Money Management.  We will enter our regular and ongoing meeting schedule that provides for consistent communication to ensure that you gain Clarity, Confidence and Commitment to achieve your financial and life goals.

Monthly Perspectives June 2018

Embrace human behavior is the second principal of our Risk Priority Management philosophy, which we define as follows:

Can your kids afford to inherit the family cottage?

Early in their marriage, Pat and Marlene caught the cottage fever after summers of cottaging in rented properties.

Stashing Your Cash

Maybe you’ve checked your cash flow, and identified some extra money in your monthly budget to sock away, or maybe you’ve gotten a commission or bonus from your employer and are looking to put it aside for a rainy day.
