Many can articulate the lifestyle they want and the goals they aspire to, but few can build the blueprint to get them there. People are typically more successful in achieving both when they:
Have a trusted advisor dedicated to helping them achieve their vision of success - guiding them through the ups and downs in life and the markets
Follow a disciplined process backed by an integrated wealth plan that incorporates the whole financial picture
Have specialists in estate, trust, succession and tax planning that collaborate together to create and implement sophisticated strategies to help grow and protect their wealth
As a client at O'Neill Private Wealth, that is exactly what you will have. I lead a dependable team that delivers the best.
My inspiration to make a career in helping people achieve financial security started when I was a young boy. I personally saw what financial insecurity looked and felt like. This inspired me to develop the necessary skills to become a successful investment advisor as I wanted to be able to help people avoid the financial pitfalls that can lead to uncertainty and stress. Growing up, I learned a lot from my parents and uncle who avid investors. I soaked up as much as I could from their experiences and became a voracious reader of books like The Wealthy Barber, Rich Dad Poor Dad, One up on Wall Street and The Book of Investing Wisdom. In 1998, I attained the required credentials and began my career in finance.
I feel fortunate to have found a career where I have the same level of passion for it today, as the day I started. After 22 years in the industry, I can still say I love what I do. Helping clients navigate through the process, whilst minimizing the daunting tasks for them, so they can achieve their financial potential is extremely rewarding. I truly want to see them win because I care about them. I believe they deserve the best when it comes to wealth management.
In my career, I am most proud of the genuine relationships I have built with my clients and the feedback I hear from them. It's nice to 'think' you are doing a great job and measure the financial results. But for me, there is nothing more energizing then getting feedback directly from them that confirms they see it, feel it and are benefiting from it. My clients have described me as dependable, honest and relatable. They acknowledge my experience, skillsets and disciplined process.
Being a life long learner and enjoying learning certainly helps me bring the best to my clients. As the industry evolves, I ensure I finesse my approach and process. That is why I have continued to seek out educational opportunities and attain top industry credentials. I also strongly believe in the power of mentorship and the sharing of knowledge. That is why I became a mentor in the Brock University and TD mentorship program in 2006 and thoroughly enjoyed teaching personal financial planning in Brock's Faculty of Business.
